They brought home a gold medal from the Mixed Choir category and the Men’s chorus won a silver medal. However, both groups emerged as overall champions in their categories.

On the night of the concert, the recital hall in the Institute of Music was filled with people waiting for the concert to begin. The concert started at 8pm by the Concert Choir performing “Ah, dear heart” composed by English composer, Orlando Gibbons. The next two piece, “Setangkai Mawar” and P. Ramlee’s composition, “Menceceh Bujang Lapuk” were local tunes arranged by Malaysia’s very own arranger and choral instructor, Juliette Lai.

The second half was filled with more fun and a variety of choral works. The Chamber Choir brought the show to a climax with their Philippine folk war song, Bal-laygi with their serious, but interesting choreography.
