Born in Leningrad, he studied in Saint Petersburg Music School under the direction of I. Bogdanovich (a student of M. Yampolsky and S. Kozolupov), and also in Moscow Central Music School in the class of Artist of the People, under the direction of Professor L. Evgrafov. After graduating, he was accepted and currently serves as an assistant to Professor N. Gutman at the Moscow State Conservatory “Tchaikovsky” in the class of Artist of the People.
During his studies in Conservatory, he actively participated in numerous musical activities. He has won some international competition and participated in international festivals. He was supported by the Fond Rostropovich and he also performed for the international Gilels-Kogan project.
As an active performer, he has performed in prestigious halls in Moscow such as the Great, Small and Rachmaninov Halls at the Moscow Conservatory, the Concert Hall “Tchaikovsky”, and in the Hall of Jesus Christ the Saviour’s. He also performed in other cities from Saint Petersburg to Sevastopol to Vladivostok.
Worldwide, he has performed in Austria, Spain, Italy, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, Holland, Norway, USA, Poland, Azerbaijan, and others. In addition, he has performed as a soloist with several symphonic and chamber orchestras in Moscow performing more than 30 compositions for cello and orchestra.
His chamber music partners include outstanding musicians such as Irina Bochkova, Maria Gambarian, Mikhail Voskressensky, Vladimir Skanavi, Veniamin Korobov, and Alexey Schmitov.
He also gave masterclasses in Spain, Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, and Russia.
From 2009 to 2012, he has performed for the Moscow Conservatory Concert Season, the integral of Beethoven Piano Trios and Cello Sonatas, Schumann Chamber Music, and “Chamber Music in the Mirror of Time” a project of Natalia Gutman, Eliso Virsaladze, and Irina Kandinskaya.
He is currently the artistic director of the Music Festival of Crimea.
