Ysan Suit Yin is currently the Head of the Classical Music program at UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur. She started her piano lesson at the age of 9 and started her piano teaching career since 1985. She has a wide age-range of students and her students’ level are from beginners up to above grade eight. Her academic and professional achievements are mainly in teaching, ATCL (Teaching) in 1991, LTCL (Teaching) in 1993, Advanced Certificate (Performing) in 1994, LRSM (Teaching) in 1998 and FRSM (Teaching) in 2006. She was one of the first in South East Asia to be awarded the FRSM in teaching and recently she completed her Master in Performance at London College of Music (LCM).
While living in London, Suit Yin studied with Professor Vanessa Latarche (Head of Keyboard at the Royal College of Music), Professor Dr. Colin Kingsley, Dennis Lee and Toh Chee Hung. Suit Yin received an exemption from a Bachelor Degree in Music, hence a place was offered and acceptation in London College of Music with partial bursary for a Master Degree in Performance under the guidance of Andrew Zolinsky, Simon Rigby, Philip Mead and Dr. Anna McCready. She participated in a ‘Project Concert’ (music written between 1920 and 1940) organised by Andrew Zolinsky at LCM. Suit Yin Ysan is a member of Kingston and District Chamber Music Society (KDCMS) and played regularly with the other members from the society.
Suit Yin is a very dedicated teacher and has been actively teaching since 1986.
