Justin Lim

CR9A0130Justin became a member of the Institute of Music faculty in 2008. He graduated with a Masters of Music in Composition-Theory and a Bachelors of Music in Music Technology.

Previously, he was actively performing as a pianist/keyboardist and has worked with Malaysian Idol Jaclyn Victor, Indonesian pop artiste Kris Dayanti and Korean folk legend Kang SanEh. His playing is featured prominently on Pete Teo’s award-winning sophomore album “Television”. Justin has also performed in jazz festivals in Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia with various groups such as Andy Peterson Inc. and Junkofunc.

As a composer, his compositions have been performed in the United States and in Malaysia.

Justin is the Head of Program for Contemporary Music and teaches music theory, music history, composition and contemporary piano performance.
