Ee Jeng is an adjunct lecturer at the Institute of Music since 2014. A graduate from ICOM, who majored in Music Arranging, Ee Jeng has since been a staple in the performing circuit. He is an active keyboardist and pianist for local artist and music directors, frequently performing in corporate functions and also music programs produced by ASTRO. He also freelances as an educator, teaching jazz piano in universities as well as music schools around Kuala Lumpur.
Ee Jeng also lists sessionist, arranger and band leader in his portfolio. He is currently leading his own trio (formed with Daniel Foong and Arthur Kam) performing in venues in and around Kuala Lumpur. He is also part of many music projects including Funkatorie with Derrick Siow, Dean Sim, Weng Wai, Eddie Wen, John Thomas Trio/Experimental, Elevan Fela Orchestra (lead by John Thomas), Junkofunc (lead by Albert Sirimal) and Urban Tribes (lead by Eddie Wen). Ee Jeng’s career highlights include:
- 2nd Keyboardist with Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Dato Haji Ramli MS at the “DFP Seni Festival: MPO goes Retro with Alley Cats, Jay Jay (Carefree) and Fredo (Flybaits) in 2012. In the same year, Ee Jeng was 2nd keyboardist for Anugerah Industri Malaysia ke 19 (AIM19) under music director Dato Haji Ramli MS at Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam.
- 2nd keyboardist for Soo Wincci concert (led by Clement Siow) at KLCC Convention Center and performed as 2nd keyboardist for 27th ASEAN Dinner Concert (led by Aubrey Suwito) at KLCC Convention Center, both highlights in 2015.
- In 2016, he was 2nd keyboardist for Malam Nada Biru 2016, hosted by Atilia Haron. The concert to celebrate women empowerment was directed by Tiew Tok Khon, also an adjunct lecturer at the Institute of Music. The event saw renowned names in the industry such as Adibah Noor, Datin Paduka Julie Sudiro, Atilia Haron, Najwa Mahiaddin, Salamiah Hassan, Jaclyn Victor, Dina Nadzir, and Dato Yusni Hamid.
