CONCERTS

The Institute of Music presents a variety of concerts every semester. Our concerts typically lasts between 1.5 – 2 hours. We advice audience members to be seated at least 10 minutes before the concert begins.

Contact our event coordinator at 03-9101 8880 ext. 3323/3324 or e-mail imusevents@ucsiuniversity.edu.my to enquire for more details about our concerts.

Below are short descriptions of our end-of-semester concerts which showcase the best of the best throughout each semester.

Choir Concert

Read up about our choirs in a special article to be released soon!

Orchestra Concert

The Institute of Music’s very own orchestra is steadily growing. Under the tutelage and baton of its resident conductor, Cheryl Mah; the orchestra performs selected orchestra standards, as well as light classics that they have worked on throughout the semester.

Modern Band Concert

The contemporary students are selected to form bands each semester. These bands learn and perform an extremely wide repertoire, ranging from rock to pop, jazz to folk, and even classical music arrangements. These bands receive coaching every week and have closed-door performances held every Friday. Only the best bands throughout the semester are selected to perform in this concert.

Chamber Music Ensemble Concert

This concert is the counterpart of the Modern Band concert. The classical students are selected to form different ensembles, whether a duo, trio, quartet or quintet. They receive ensemble coaching every week and have closed-door performances held every Friday. Only the best ensembles are selected to perform in this concert.
