Jaz Tan

jaztanJaz Tan is currently the Director of Elysee Music School at Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, specializing in piano, harp and Kindermusik education. She formerly worked as the Head of Classical Music Degree Program as well as senior lecturer in UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur.

Apart from being a solo pianist, she also works as a collaborative pianist and performed in many choral, opera and musical events/productions. She performed in the 1st Asian Grand Piano Concert at the Plenary Hall of Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (2009) and the Piano Duet Recital with Dr. Lim Pei Sien at UCSI University (2012).

 Also a part-time harp performer, she performed in many functions, including Konsert Menjunjung Kasih Orchestra IPT 2006 for Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Ke-12, “Jambatan” Concert held in Kuala Lumpur with Mr. Loo Bang Hean and Ms. Keiko Nakagawa (2008) and Johor Bahru Annual Arts Festival (2009).

Being a music educator, Jaz Tan has helped students achieving excellent results in many examinations and competitions.

Jaz Tan graduated from University of Western Ontario, Canada with a Master of Music degree specializing in piano performance. Her teachers include Professor Maureen Volk, Professor Kristina Szutor, Ms. Tina Yanchus and Mrs. Carla Furlong.
