Ashley Tan

210771_10150154138081637_6745428_oAshley Tan received her Bachelor Degree of Music from the University of Melbourne. She received vocal training from Julia Nafisi and Loris Synan during her study in Melbourne.  She performed actively with the Melbourne university opera ensemble, played as ‘Suzanna’ of Le nozze di Figaro in the concert of ‘Opera Highlights’. She also performed in the opera ‘Chapel off Chapel’ with the Melbourne Opera Project and was selected to join the Baroque Music Arts & Gesture workshop by Helga Hill. She had the privilege to participate in a master class with Siro Battaglin, the prominent repetiteur from Cologne Opera, Germany.

Since return from Australia, she has been a favored guest artist in many local concerts. she had also appeared as a soloist in a number of sacred music concerts, namely the “St. Matthew Passion”, “Our Songs, Our Spirits”, and “Sacred Arias Concert”. Internationally, she has performed with “The Petite Seven” in Singapore, and was invited by the company of YinQi Music Centre to perform in the concert tour of “In Your Glory, Lord!” in Australia and New Zealand. In collaboration with another three sopranos, she organised the concert of ‘A Date with 4 Singing Skirts’ and received good acclaim for her splendid performance.

She is now under the coaching of renowned soprano, Cecilia Yap. She is currently a member of music faculty of the University College Sedaya International (UCSI).
